On Your Barks

On your Barks, get Pet, WOOF!

After a dozen doggy years of pooch plotting and planning, I’m finally off on my mighty mutt mission. 475 million homeless hounds are counting on me and I’m ready to make a big bark about it on their behalf!

You can sniff out the video in a day or two, but in case you want the poop scoop full, I kicked off my Tour from where my new leash on life began- the Cape of Good SPCA – cage B5. I woofed good bye by giving every dog a home made biscuit before heading for the Camps Bay High School to celebrate the Cape of Good Hope SPCA’s Mutt of the Year. This was an event that I won on my very first attempt 5 years ago - and seemed like a good place to start the Woof Tour.! After sniffing through a few hundred dogs, and an equal showing of wagging tails, a pack of us boarded the City Sight Seeing Bus (Thanks Claus) and headed for Steenberg Golf Estate where we jumped onto a helicopter and departed for the airport where my very own chartered jet – a King Air was waiting just for me. Just call me the “Pet Jetter’…

Woof! Gaborone, here I come!

Major bark of thanks to Victor at the Camps Bay High School for use of their field – (sorry I couldn’t stick around to clean up all the landmines). To Nice Equipment, Rogz, Sarah and Juan of the Cape of Good Hope SPCA and Solly for lively entertainment- you are true Top Dogs! Christelle of Animal travel Services – thank you for my Passport; Claus – for the City Sight Seeing bus, Mark at Execujet for the ‘hot’ transfer, Mitzi at Visa Express in Jo'burg for organizing 24 visa's for my human luggage - and a huge yap of gratitude to Justin at Airborne Camera Experts for that helicopter experience. That was really something to howl at the moon about!
